2015 Black River Area Chamber of Commerce Election Results

2015 Black River Falls Chamber of Commerce Board of DirectorsThe Black River Area Chamber of Commerce is a working partnership of business people who seek to promote the commercial, industrial, educational and health-related activities to support the well-being of the area and its citizens.  Each year the Chamber seeks individuals to engage in this partnership and serve on the Chamber Board of Directors.

Chamber members received a ballot in November presenting the candidates for the 2015 Board of Directors. The newly elected board members who will serve their first three-year term are Justin Dougherty, Dynamic Audio & Video; Kristin Franks, Edward Jones Representative and Sue Miller, Co-op Credit Union.  Re-elected to serve a second three-year term is Diane Moen-Ross, Center Director for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley - Jackson County Center. 

The other directors currently serving on the board are Liz Hilts, Land O'Lakes; Mary O'Brien, Individual Member; Karman Briggs, Western Dairyland; Holly Winn, Black River Memorial Hospital; David Mahlum, Midnight Entertainment; Tyler McNeely, Jackson County Circuit Court; Steve Meyer, Jackson Electric; Lori Scharlau, Creative Cottage Quilt and Crafting Retreat and Allen Creek Country Store; Dave Meyer, WWIS; Tris Harris, Ho-Chunk Gaming-Black River Falls and Grady Gutknecht, Jackson County Board of Supervisors.

Jennifer Gunning, owner of Re-Pete's Saloon and Grill completed a three-year term from 2009-2011, and an additional two-year term from 2013-2014.  Gunning served as Chamber President in 2010, and served on a variety of committees such as, the executive committee, the Chamber annual dinner and the Black River Area Oktoberfest committee. Two additional retiring board members who served three-year terms include Sara Baker, US Cellular and Amy Lien, Co-op Credit Union. Baker served on various committees such as, the Black River Area Oktoberfest, the annual dinner, marketing, the Karner Blue Race and the nominating committee.  Lien served on the executive committee, the Black River Area Oktoberfest committee and the nominating committee. The management, staff and board of directors thank all three outgoing board members for their many years of service and are grateful to have had their expertise to help guide the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce.
