InnovateHER: 2017 Innovating for Women Business Challenge

DEADLINE EXTENDED!

The Western Dairyland Women's Business Center is hosting a local competition to select a semi-finalist for the national InnovateHER: 2017 Innovating for Women Business Challenge. Entrepreneurs are invited to compete for $70,000 in cash prizes! Applicants are asked to submit a business plan and 2-3 minute video by May 19th to karman.briggs@wdeoc.org

The Small Business Association (SBA) Office of Women's Business Ownership is launching the third year of the InnovateHER: Innovating for Women Challenge, a prize competition to showcase the most innovative products and services that impact and empower women's lives. Through this Challenge, SBA is looking for entrepreneurs to create a product or service that:

  • has a measurable impact on the lives of women and families
  • has the potential for commercialization
  • fills a need in the marketplace

One local winner in each region will be forwarded to the SBA, who will then identify 10 finalists. National finalists will be announced July 31, 2017 and will present a live pitch to a panel of expert judges in September to compete for up to $70,000 in cash prizes:

  • 1st Place - $40,000;
  • 2nd Place - $20,000
  • 3rd Place - $10,000

This competition is funded through a generous gift from Sara Blakely Foundation. The hope is this competition will spur greater conversation, collaboration and cooperation at all levels to support women, families and entrepreneurs.
