FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I get a grant to start my business?
Unfortunately, grants to start small businesses do not readily exist. Although it is possible, the chances of a for-profit business receiving a grant is highly unlikely. Both individuals and businesses set up foundations to provide grants for specific purposes. Many of them offer grants to individuals for educational purposes or for specific fields of research. Many offer grants to non-profit organizations. However, we are not aware of any foundations currently offering grants to individuals to start for-profit businesses. Generally, taxation laws prohibit foundations from granting money to for-profit businesses. To consider other, more practical options, please view our list of financing options.
